INTRODUCTION
The Weather Company was established in September 1998 in response to a demand from television broadcasters for more sophisticated weather programming. The Weather Company is now Australia's leading weather information provider to media and internet organisations.
We specialise in 4 key areas:
- On-air weather presentation, graphics system sales and support
- Supply of weather information and forecasting services
- Meteorological support including presentation scripts and personal briefings
- Design, production and supply of presentation-ready weather graphics
Experienced meteorologists staff our office from 4:15am to 8pm daily to provide continuous and accurate coverage of the evolving weather issues across the country.
The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) supplies weather information and The Weather Company converts this information into computer ready data, specialised forecasts, TV or web ready graphics and scripts.
Our focus is always to find the "news" in the weather. This means not only explaining the weather in interesting and informative ways, but also telling viewers how it will affect THEM. Our strength is in interpreting and commentating, thereby finding the story in each day's events. The Weather Company is a media friendly organisation. All staff understand the needs of news and television production and are comfortable performing interviews with journalists or appearing on-air. We also have meteorologists capable of performing live chroma-key weather presentations; giving you more options for weather when your number one presenter is unavailable.
The Weather Company is the exclusive reseller for Genesis in Australia. The Weather Company and Weather Central have invested considerable resources in ensuring Genesis will work with local data sources. We employ specialist installation and customer support technicians to ensure the highest level of customer support.
